Home Description
Built into the hillside and surrounded by round doors, garden rows, and blooming pipeweed, this cozy earthen cottage is the picture of comfortable country living. Inside, low ceilings and warm wood finishes create a snug, welcoming atmosphere, while the wraparound garden offers plenty of room for a second breakfast on sunny mornings. A round front door, a well-stocked pantry, and a chimney that always seems to have smoke curling from it make this home as inviting as they come. Simple, unassuming, and quietly extraordinary — the perfect home for anyone looking for an unexpected adventure of their own.
Driving Directions
From the main road, head west past the Green Dragon and continue until the pavement gives way to a well-worn country lane. Follow the lane as it winds gently uphill, past rolling fields and the occasional grazing pony — if you start seeing round front doors built into the hillsides, you're in the right neighborhood. Turn onto Bagshot Row at the old stone mile-marker, then follow the curve of the hill. The homes here sit low and blend into the landscape, so look for chimney smoke and neatly kept gardens rather than rooflines. Lot 31 has the brightest green door on the row and a garden gate that's always left slightly ajar for visitors. Parking note: No driveway — carts and foot traffic only. Leave horses (or cars) at the small paddock near the entrance to the lane.
